Gwen Marrion
Gwen has a long history of volunteer service and leadership in Bolton, including two terms on the Board of Selectmen, from 2013 to 2017. She was a founding member of the Bolton Land Trust and has served as its president since the trust was formed in 2001.
She was a member of the Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission from 1989 to 2009, serving as chairperson from 1991 to 2009. In her final year as chairperson, Gwen was recognized by the Connecticut Association of Conservation and Inland Wetlands Commissions as Commissioner of the Year.
Gwen was a member of Bolton’s Open Space Acquisition and Preservation Committee for fourteen years and served as its chairman for four years. As an active East Coast Greenway project volunteer for the Bolton Notch to Manchester segment, she was recognized for her efforts by the Connecticut Greenways Council in 2007 and 2011. She is also a founding member of Friends of the Rose Farm and has participated in many work parties at the farm since 2006. Gwen served on the Charter Revision Commission in 2008.
A graduate of Swarthmore College and University of Connecticut School of Law, Gwen practiced law in Hartford from 1985 to 1994. She and her husband Tom have lived in Bolton since 1987, and their sons, Henry and Raymond, are graduates of Bolton High School. When not volunteering, Gwen can be found playing tennis, playing her French horn, or gardening.
