Bob DePietro, Board of Finance

Bob’s diverse background includes entrepreneurship, teaching, and years of management experience in the fields of education, insurance, and government.

A native of East Hartford (he still helps run the family farm he grew up on), Bob and his wife, Dorothy (recently retired after more than ten years with the Bolton Senior Center), have lived in Bolton for many years.

Bob has served on the Board of Finance since 2013, is an active senior member (and former financial secretary and Grand Knight) of the St. Maurice Knights of Columbus, and is a founding member and current secretary of the board of directors of the Bolton Land Trust.

He is also a member of the board of supervisors for the North Central Conservation District and serves on the E&T committee for the annual conference of the Connecticut Land Conservation Council.

Bob holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in education from the University of Hartford. He taught middle school English for ten years. Later, as an adjunct college professor in Maine, he taught courses on organizational behavior, insurance, and employment law.

Now retired, Bob spent many years managing and supervising staff in the corporate financial services industry, later serving as state administrative officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service. Bob has experience facilitating high-performing team- and management-development workshops throughout the United States.

Bob’s extensive and varied experience, mature perspective, and insights into the nature of community difference and the importance of collaborative relationship-building are a tremendous asset to town government.
