Amanda Gordon

Diversity Commission (Chair) (2021–)

Amanda is a social work professional and nonprofit management leader. She completed her B.A. at Boston College, majoring in biology and sociology. She went on to obtain her master of social work from the University of Connecticut in community organizing with concentrations in urban and Puerto Rican and Latinx studies. 

Amanda recently began working as the director of quality assurance for Community Housing Advocates, with affiliates Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation and My Sisters’ Place. In her previous role as the deputy director of Journey Home, she was responsible for managing agency operations and a growing multimillion-dollar budget while overseeing the implementation of innovative strategies to end homelessness. 

Amanda has been a Bolton resident for just over two years, but was raised in Andover and lived in Manchester briefly with her husband before relocating to Bolton. Passionate about social justice, she is excited to be an inaugural member of Bolton’s new Diversity and Inclusion Commission. She is honored to be nominated by the DTC to run for the Bolton Board of Finance with the opportunity to represent the interests of Bolton residents. 

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys reading to relax as well as to expose herself to diverse perspectives and topics. She is committed to working out to maintain a healthy mind and body and also rejuvenates by spending time with family, friends, and her fur babies.
