Alison Romkey
Alison and her husband, Rick, have lived in Bolton for 17 years and have three daughters who attend Bolton Public Schools. She has an associate degree from Manchester Community College and is employed as a project manager for Hartford Community Loan Fund, a nonprofit organization in Hartford. She has also worked as a virtual assistant for a number of entrepreneurs doing website work and social networking.
Alison has a proven record of leadership, service, and commitment to Bolton schools. She has served on the Board of Education since 2013 and is the current board secretary. In addition, she chairs the board’s finance and personnel subcommittees and until September 2018 served as the board’s representative to the Capital Region Education Council.
Alison has had many roles with the Bolton PTA, including as membership chair, three years as secretary, two years as vice president, and two as president. She continues to produce the BCS Variety Show, which provides a much-needed artistic outlet for Bolton’s children.
She was also a member of the board of the Bolton Cooperative Nursery School, serving as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer before her children began attending Bolton Public Schools.
Alison has coached soccer, basketball, and t-ball and is a lifetime member of the Bolton Booster Club, as well as a member of the Bolton Women’s Club. She was the Service Unit Manager for the Girl Scouts for the Town of Bolton for three years prior to the merger with Coventry. She is also a troop leader for two Bolton Girl Scout troops.
