On Friday, October 18, the Journal Inquirer ran an article (paid content) about a series of candidate debates proposed by the Bolton Community Education Foundation but ultimately rejected by the Republicans. According to the article, the Republicans felt there should be only one debate, and they

rejected foundation president Sandra Hastings as the proposed moderator because of a perceived link with the schools, and asked for a Republican “co-moderator.”

The BDTC is troubled by the implication that association with the Bolton school system is somehow a black mark. Bolton Democrats are proud of our education system and support the efforts of any organization that works to benefit our students and teachers.
